finished piece on display

This is the picture that I fashioned my sculpture after. I liked the calm look in his eyes, like he's having one last look before heading to the alpine.

Here you can see the armature that forms the shape.

standing beside the deer you get an idea of his size, I am 6' tall. I had to cut a hole in the shop ceiling to get his ears on.

The antlers are made with 1" round solid rod and the mass is made up of 1/4" solid rod. Each antler weighs 40 lbs.

Lowering him onto the base. This is the first time I have seen him upright with the antlers on because I had to lay him down in the shop to attach them.
